As 2021 drew to a close, our beloved Boulder Valley experienced the most horrific and devastating wildfire in Colorado History. The Marshall Fire destroyed 1,000s of homes and uprooted so many members of our community. An event so close to home, Niwot was moved to rise together and support our neighbors.
Spearheaded by Niwot resident, business owner and Niwot Business Association Vice President Deborah Fowler, the “Niwot Small Town Big Heart Marshall Fire Fund” was born. The goal to raise $100,000 was set and administrated by the Colorado Gives – community foundation of Boulder County.
Over the past months you’ve hopefully spotted the thermometers around town tracking the fund’s progress or attended the many fundraising events.
As of September 1, 2022, the fund hit a milestone, raising over 80% with only $18,000 remaining. To get across the finish line, 1914 House has graciously offered to host the “Grand Finale” with the goal to surpass the $100,000 milestone and bring this successful fundraise to a close.
The Grand Finale will take place on Wednesday October 5th from 4-8pm. A $100 surcharge per table will apply with all charges going directly to the fundraise. Guests will enjoy a welcome cocktail and live music provided by local musician Tim Stiles. An online auction will tempt you featuring once in a lifetime trips and extraordinary vacation packages including Ted Turner’s Fly Fishing Ranch, Golfing in St Andrews, Relaxing in a villa in Tuscany or staying closer to home in Telluride. Winners will be announced at 9pm.
The Colorado Landmark Team at Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate, the leader in Niwot real estate for over 20 years with offices opposite 1914 house on 2nd Avenue, is the evening’s key sponsor alongside 1914 owner, Nick Mastronardi, who has generously donated a portion of the evening’s sales. The welcome cocktail is sponsored by Seven Wealth, Adam Robinson – a wealth manager also located on 2nd Ave and the live music is sponsored by Deb Fowler, DRF Real Estate, Slifer Smith & Frampton whose office is located in the Niwot Emporium.
